Ariel Harkham Earlier this month, kids in Southern Israel received a never-before seen fireworks show. Hamas-deployed over 100 rockets and mortars over Israel’s entire southern region. To counter the attack, Israel decided to employ its much-anticipated anti-missile defense, which destroyed more then 10 of these rockets. The “Iron Dome” system, as it is called, is being hailed as a success. In reality, it represents a total failure of vision and erodes the concept of deterrence for the State of Israel. Now, the barometer for success is measured, not by Israel’s abilities to deter rockets, but by their ability.. Location: Featured Articles > Archive |
/ / JNI Editorial / Mar. 24, 2011 / / “Terror is Back” is the headline leading Israeli newspapers the day after a bus bombing hit Jerusalem near the Beit H’Uman conference center. The response among the Israeli public is a response of nerves – as it always has been. But along with the concern is a new anger, a disbelief that this is happening again. / / The anger’s source lies in the perception that there was a kind of détente between the two sides. The public had been energized and frustrated by questions about how far to go with negotiations, how.. Location: Featured Articles |
The Economist Israel's Jewish identity / The state we're in / Mar 17th 2011, 9:07 by D.L. | JERUSALEM / / / PERHAPS because herring was a respected staple in the Eastern European Jewish shtetl, there is no literal translation in Yiddish of the English phrase, "red herring". Instead, Yiddish-speaking Jews use the expression "climbing up the smooth walls" to accuse someone of coming up with superfluous and irrelevant arguments in order to cloud the issue. / / That expression, which has made its way into Hebrew, comes to mind whenever you hear—as you.. Ashley Rindsberg / / / Ehud Barak has done it again. Like Sharon before him, and Yossi Lapid before him (as well as Yitzhak Peretz, Amir Peretz, Saadia Marciano, and even Ezer Weizman), Mr. Barak has set out to form a new political party. This time, however, the new party will succeed. This time, Barak must be thinking, that magical compote of Zionism, strategic strength, and dogged peace-processing will actually work. / / Of course it won’t. One of the defining qualities of an Israeli is a firm possession of the Bonaparte principle: that he can—will—succeed where all others.. Location: Featured Articles |

Benjamin Yokneam / / / / Autopsy is an important part of the medical process. Understanding how a patient died is a matter of official record-keeping and can play a critical part in attributing culpability for the death, if it exists. The autopsy can also help the science move forward, providing clues and new cases of how disease and system failure affect the human body. / / In politics, the same it often true, particularly with regard to complex processes like the peace process between Israel and various Arab states. In most cases, the process died, and a number of experts conducted an autopsy.. Location: Featured Articles |
Ariel Harkham As it appeared in the Jerusalem Post Sep. 7, 2009 / / Earlier this month, Ori Nir, a spokesman for Americans for Peace Now and former Haaretz reporter, revealed an alarming, even terrifying, bit of news in an opinion piece for the Washington Jewish Week: There are bogeymen in the hills of Israel. Citing only an incident in 1988, and one in 2000, Nir argued that the "brutality" of soldiers and settlers in the West Bank has spread across the Green Line, causing the wave of violent crime the country seems to be experiencing lately. / / Never mind, for the moment, that Israel has one of the lowest.. Twisted, silvery stubs are all that remain of a lush grove that once offered up a yearly abundance of fat green olives. / / The vandals came at night from Adei Ad, a Jewish settlers’ outpost deemed “illegal” even.. Jerusalem Post Sarah Honig takes a close look at the historical case of Jordan and it being the actual Palestinian State. ![]() After what was described as an Israeli "massacre" of Palestinians at Jenin on the West Bank in 2002, the following scene of a "funeral" procession was caught on tape by an overhead Israeli drone. It shows the "corpse" falling off the stretcher as he is carried to his "funeral" only to get up and climb back on.
This is a clip from "Pallywood" by Seconddraft.org which documents Palestinian efforts to deceive unquestioning lamestream media throughout the world.

Dear Editor, / / / I have just finished reading yet another New York Times article that focus’s its main attack on Jewish settlements in Judea & Shomron. These articles clearly promote the opinion that the root cause to the current stalemate between Palestinians and Israeli's is Jewish housing projects. The continual western journalist's fetish for Jewish settlement is becoming apparent given the events of the past decade concerning this conflict. According to your editorials, it is as if Oslo, Disengagement, rise of Hamas and its subsequent rockets, have poof, up and vanished, or made.. Location: Deconstruction > Archive |
